Sicily Photo Masterclass Alumni Scholarship Fund
Announcing the 1-6 June 2025 program
Group portfolio review with David Campany during the Masterclass 2024
The SPM (Sicily Photo Masterclass) Alumni Scholarship Fund has been created to enable wider access to the week-long educational programme in Sicily. Thanks to the outward-looking approach of the SPM alumni, the scholarship is intended as a gift to promote new talents in photography and to diversify attendance at the intensive course led by award-winning photographer Mimi Mollica.
The 6-day Course
3 days working on your current project
You will be supervised by Mimi, alongside Emma and Tim, who are the two special guest tutors of the 2025. Past Special Guest Tutors include Martin Parr, Helene Binet, David Campany, Lucy Conticello, Aaron Schuman, Dewi Lewis and several more.
Group seminars, 1 to 1 tutorials and informal discussions help you refine your ideas with plenty of time to think, research and work - on your own or with a supportive group (maximum group size 11)
2/3 days working on-location
You will participate in a collective project to develop your ability to rapidly respond to a brief. Mimi will review your work in a 1 to 1 with you at the end of each day’s shoot. As a result, you will edit and produce a body of work which will be promoted by him after the course.
Aims and Outcomes
1 - move your current project forwards
2 - advance your practice
3 - learn to build a narrative with images
4 - complete a photo series as part of the collective project “Fracture”
