Group portfolio review during the Masterclass 2021
The SPM (Sicily Photo Masterclass) Bursary has been created to enable wider access to the week-long educational programme in Sicily. Thanks to the outward-looking approach of the SPM alumni, the scholarship is intended as a gift to promote new talents in photography and to diversify attendance at the intensive course led by award-winning photographer Mimi Mollica.
The 6-day Course
3 days working on your current project
You will be supervised by Mimi and 2 special guest tutors who range from academics to industry specialists to masters of photography. Past Special Guest Tutors include Martin Parr, Helene Binet, Lucy Conticello, Aaron Schuman, Dewi Lewis and several more. The 2024 Special Guest Tutor are David Campany & Mariama Attah.
Group seminars, 1 to 1 tutorials and informal discussions help you refine your ideas with plenty of time to think, research and work - on your own or with the supportive group (maximum group size 11)
2/3 days working on-location
You will participate in a collective project to develop your ability to rapidly respond to a brief. Mimi will review your work in a 1 to 1 with you at the end of each day’s shoot. As a result, you will edit and produce a body of work which will be promoted by him after the course.

Portfolios and letters of interest are welcome from all photographers worldwide.

1 Bursary to fully fund one photographer to participate to the Sicily Photo Masterclass 2024
The successful applicant will benefit from a fully funded scholarship to access the Sicily Photo Masterclass plus travel costs and a daily allowance.
And
1 Grant of £1000 to be discounted from the overall fee for photographers worldwide under 30 years old.
The successful applicant will benefit from a grant which will partially cover the Masterclass fee. Travel arrangements are excluded from the grant.

Please feel free to informally get in touch with Mimi via email, introducing yourself expressing your interest in applying for one of the two scholarship available. Between Jan and Feb 2024, Mimi will host free portfolio reviews, both in person in London and remotely, in order to review applicants work.
