During the week-long workshop we will be focusing on your existing projects by fully engaging on topics such as editing, sequencing and building a visual narrative.

In addition, we will also visit and photograph near-by villages, so you’ll be able to contribute to the collective project about the areas affected by the devastating earthquake of Belíce Valley of 1968.

Our growing site-specific research FRACTURE will collect the photographers perspectives and visions on a challenged and lengthy recovery of this part of Sicily.

Mimi will share his twenty-plus years experience in documentary photography and story-telling and, together with Special Guest Tutors David Campany and Mariama Attah, who will join the Masterclass giving their input on the first couple of days, will help you develop you current project and bring it to the next level, suggesting new outcomes to help you develop your ideas.

Mariama and David will add great value to the masterclass, offering you the chance to benefit from their unique knowledge and expertise in the curatorial arena and photography story-telling.

Through a series of presentations, group critiques and individual sessions you will find new inspiration, will feel culturally reinvigorated and will receive a revived boost in your photographic abilities.

Our library, which includes some great photo-books from past and contemporary artists will offer you further resources and a chance to deepen your photographic literacy.

The photographers will experience a full immersion in photography while enjoying a relaxing time-out with great company, exquisite Sicilian food and breathtaking surroundings.

On our last day we will conclude our experience by creating and watch together a presentation of the work done over the week and we’ll celebrate the end of the photography course with a wrap-up party in our farmhouse.

Your contribution to FRACTURE will be featured on this website and promoted via social media.

Mimi Mollica is a rare example of an accomplished photographer who is selflessly generous with his time and his experience. As well as group discussions Mimi was always ready to make time for individual sessions, including talking about projects I was working on outside the workshop. An unmissable experience.
